Why community and council owned facilities?
Council and community facilities provide places for families, children, young people and the community to connect and come together. Your council or community facility can make a big difference to the health and wellbeing of your community by creating a healthy food and drink environment.
By offering a menu (or vending items) that meet Victorian government guidelines, you can provide an environment that supports healthy food and drink choices.
Whether you are a smaller facility with only one vending machine, or a larger facility with a retail outlet; Vic Kids Eat Well can help you create a healthier environment and support you on your way to meeting the Healthy Choices Guidelines.
Join the movement today
Community and council owned facilities across Victoria are deciding to serve delicious, healthy options. By joining the Vic Kids Eat Well movement, your facility can create healthier environments where kids can thrive.
Any community or council owned facility that provides food and drinks (retail or vending) or has food and drink-based marketing/fundraising can participate in Vic Kids Eat Well. This includes libraries, cultural, community and arts centres and neighbourhood houses.

What is involved?
Once you register you will be connected with a health promotion professional who will work with you to make healthy changes in your facility. Your facility may have already made healthy changes or may be just beginning. You may wish to start with a ‘small bite’ and make a small change, or a ‘large bite’ and make a bigger change. Work your way through all the bites, collecting rewards and celebrating your success as you go.
